ORGANIZATIONS
Churches, faith communities, ministries, local discussion/study groups, groups within larger organizations, and other intentional communities are welcome to affiliate with TCPC. If you haven't already, you may read about the benefits of affiliating here. However, the primary benefit is an increased attendance. This website averages 55,000 unique visitors a month and is constantly increasing its volume.
By affiliating or renewing your affiliation with TCPC and listing your group in the directory, your organization agrees to extend a particular form of welcome to those who seek to be a part of it. This form of welcome is outlined in TCPC's 8 Points - TCPC's working "definition" of Progressive Christianity.
This doesn't mean, of course, that you all must agree with every detail of the wording, but just that you and your community can affirm the underlying principles. You are even free to reword them in a way that makes sense for your group. But, before affiliating or reaffiliating, we ask that you talk over the Points with people in your organization, especially those with decision-making authority.
To facilitate your discussion, we recommend our Study Guide for the Eight Points. You can read it online, or order a printed version in our store. Donation levels for organizations per year: - Local study/discussion groups and campus ministries: $35-$50
- Less than 100 contributing members: $50-$150
- 100 to 250 contributing members: $75-$200
- 250+ contributing members: $100-$250
Affiliate as Organization
INDIVIDUALS If you have read TCPC's 8 Points, and feel as though you have found a community of people you want to support and be a part of, then we welcome your affiliation! If you haven't already, you can read about the other benefits of affiliating here. Don't feel as though you have to agree with every word of the Points - we are rearranging them all the time anyway, in a true progressive spirit! But before you affiliate/reaffiliate, we ask you to read through our latest version to see if you can affirm their underlying principles. We also welcome affiliation by members or leaders of organizations who may not be ready to affiliate with TCPC as a group. Donation Levels for individuals per year: Note: The minimum donation required for Individual Affiliates and Local Group Affiliates is $35. The minimum for Organizational Affiliates is $50. In order to remain an Affiliate, you must renew your affiliation each year. Once you log-in, your renewal date will be listed under your name.
