FEAR TO STORY TELLING A
DRAMATIC READING FROM ACTS 2 CHARACTERS
Narrator
As many disciples as you want
A Holy Spirit person for each disciple Narrator:
When the day of Pentecost had come, all the disciples were together in one
place. The doors were locked and they were afraid.
They were afraid that if they told anyone they followed Jesus, that the
Romans would throw them in jail or kill them. Disciples huddle together, each disciple repeating a line Disciples:
I’m scared….
Is someone at the door…?
Shhh, be quiet…
I’m afraid…
Who’s there…? Narrator:
Suddenly, a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled
all the house where they were huddling, and there appeared to them tongues as of
fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. People
representing the Holy Spirit enter waving red cloth or red crepe paper and run
all over the stage making the sounds of wind until they come and wave their red
over the head of each disciple. Narrator:
They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to overcome their fear and
to have courage to speak to everyone about God’s love and all the experiences
they had had with Jesus. Disciples
move from the stage to the congregation saying their line over and over.
The Holy Spirit follows each of them and swishes through the congregation
with their red flame. Disciples:
The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed…
Let the children come to me…
Love
your neighbor as yourself…
Blessed are the peacemakers…
Give us this day our daily bread…
You are the light of the world…
Judge not, that you be not judged… The
disciples and the Holy Spirit stand around the edges of the congregation. Narrator:
And so the disciples went all over Judea and Samaria and the whole world telling
God’s stories. What stories are
