CELEBRATING GOD’S STORIES

A CALL TO WORSHIP

Tell the congregation that you will read a phrase and if they fit in that category to please respond: We come to celebrate God’s stories.

·       Everyone who’s ever appreciated God’s amazing creation of the universe we read about in the Book of Genesis.

·       Everyone who, like Joseph and his brothers in Genesis and Mary and Martha in the Gospels, didn’t always get along with their brothers and sisters.

·       Everyone who, like Ruth in the Book of Ruth, ever moved from one place to another to be with someone you cared for.

·       Everyone who, like the Psalmist, ever experienced deep joy and heartbreaking sorrow.

·       Everyone who, like the Hebrew Prophets, ever stood up for something you believed in.

·       Everyone who, like Mary and Joseph, waited for a baby to be born.

·       Everyone who, like Jesus at age twelve, didn’t always do what your parents told you.

·       Everyone who, like the Syrophonecian woman and the Roman centurion in the gospels, ever prayed for someone who you loved to be healed.

·       Everyone who, like Jesus and his mother, went to the wedding of a friend.

·       Everyone who, like Mary and Peter and the others on Easter morning, have ever been surprised by God.

·       Everyone who, like the disciples in the upper room in Acts, have ever been afraid.

·       Everyone who, like everyone in the Bible, has a story to tell about your life and your relationship with God!
